 Subhash Chandra Bose made an immense contribution to India's freedom.
  • He started his career under the guidance of Chittranjan Das, and became the President of All India Youth Congress. 
  • He started his own newspaper `Swaraj', and through this medium inspired middle classes to participate in the freedom movement.
  • He participated in the Non-cooperation Movement in 1920, during which, he briefly served as the President of Bengal National College, promoting national education, as one of the goals set up by NCM. 
  • During Meerut Conspiracy Case, he lent his support to the accused as pro-communist.
  • In 1928, he demanded 'Puma Swaraj' instead of 'Dominion Status', which was adopted in the Lahore session of the Congress of 1929.
  • During Civil Disobedience Movement, he was the Mayor of Calcutta Municipal Corporation. He organised rallies and was jailed in the process. 
  • He was elected as the President of INC in Haripura Session in 1938. There, he suggested a development model of India to the National Planning Committee.
  • He was a supporter of using force and speedy methods of gaining independence. Hence, he formed an 'All India Forward Block', which was more radical in his views than INC. 
  • He pressurised Gandhi to launch mass Civil Disobedience Movement.
  • He went to Germany, and from there he broadcasted through his 'Azad Hind Radio', motivating Indians to rebel against the British.
  • He formed an 'Indian National Army' and did massive recruitment in Malaya and Singapore. 
Bose left a lucrative career in the civil services and wandered across numerous countries seeking support for the Indian freedom struggle. He was instrumental in inspiring the youth to join the movement and provided to huge impetus by attracting millions towards freedom struggle.
