Introduction To The Constitution Of India by D.D. Basu is an excellent book, but it would be a tad difficult for beginners. However it is a good read and one should always try to read it when you get some time.

6. Map-based Questions : Orient blackswan or Oxford Atlas 
Follow any good Atlas and refer to current affairs related places and surroundings. 



7. Economics : Ncert (MUST) + SRIRAM IAS economy notes & The Indian Economy by Sanjiv Verma (especially for mains) Indian economy by Ramesh Singh (only certain Topics + Not very important ) & Economic Survey + India Year Book (certain  important relevant Topics Only) 

8. Art And Culture : Ncert(MUST)  + Indian Art and Culture by Nitin Singhania (certain Topics Onlys + Not very important ).


9. Ancient India : Ncert(MUST)  +  India's Ancient Past by Rs Sharma ( Not very important )


10. Medieval India : Ncert(MUST)  + 
A History of Mediaeval India by Satish Chandra ( Not very important )
