Krishnadevaraya belonged to the Tuluva dynasty. His Kingdom comprised of three fourth of the Southern Indian area.



Krishnadevaraya published several works- Amuktamalyada, Madalsa Charitra, Jambavati Kalyan, etc. He is said to have been a master of several languages. Amuktamalyada ,a Telugu work of his describes the pangs of separation suffered by Andal (a bhakti saint) from Lord Vishnu. Don't she was the follower of vaishnavism he patronised all sects and art and literature flourished during his reign.

Kanada(Mallanarya), Telugu (Pingali Surana, Tenali Ramakriahna, Aalasani Pedana,etc) , Tamil(Haridasa) and Sanskrit (Vyasathirtha) literature have flourished during his rule. However,his reign is considered as the golden age of Telugu literature.
Eight poets knows as Astadiggajalu (8 elephants in the 8 cardinal points are said to be part of his Court). Among them Aalasani Pedana was the most famous and was later given the title of father of Telugu poetry.

He patronised scholars from various fields from mathematics to literature. His rein witnessed Hughes advancements in art architecture and literature.
