Ans. Mob violence is a type of violence in which a group of people becomes the judge in any cause and punish the other individual or other group for a certain action which they think is wrong.

This kind of situation really creates problems for the law and order because law is taken in the hands by the mob for doing self-conceived justice. It is a sign that they don't trust the authorities and it also prevents the law abiding people to respect the law as well because the authorities couldn't protect the law itself. In the recent times, mob violence is on rise in India. There are various reasons responsible for this, like
Lack of mutual trust among different communities and groups, this gives way to riots. Most of the regional riots in India are the examples of lack of mutual trust.
Lack of tolerance t  to each other's food habits and culture. The recent incident of the murder of Mohammad Akhlaq in Dadri village over the speculation of beef eating and the every day incidents of cow lynching show that mob violence is on rise in India.
Lack of respect for law is also another reason. The incident of the lynching of a youth over allegation of rape in Assam support this claim.
Political propaganda, hate speeches by the politicians, regionalism, fake news in the social media, etc arc other reasons which create atmosphere for the incidents of mob lynching.
Immunity to offenders is also a big reason as the mob which commits the crime does not get identified and the people are not get punished.
Wrongly motivated rumours also act as force multiples in these types of incidents. These incidents have adverse impacts on the social, economic and political atmosphere in the country in the following ways
It creates a poor social capital in the society because of which the society gets stratified on the lines of fear and hate. This also creates conditions for unnecessary and continuous friction among people belonging to different religions, caste, gender etc.
It also vitiates the political atmosphere in the country as in a divided society politicians demand votes on the lines of caste and religion. This prevents the agenda of economic development to take a front scat. This is in overall bad for the country's economy.
In the international sphere as well these types of incidents degrade the image of the country in the world. As peace is disturbed and prevents the foreign firms to invest in India. This again blocks the economic growth and employment opportunities for the people.
So, finally it can be said that mob violence is a menace for the country and we should get rid of it from the society.
